The PIN (Personal Identification Number), or PIN code, for your Maestro card is your personal secret number, which you must enter during every transaction and cash withdrawal. The PIN code for your Maestro card will be sent to you separately. - We recommend that you change your PIN code at an ATM immediately upon receipt to a code of your own choice. You can do so at any Swiss cash dispenser. Please be sure not to use any number combinations that could be guessed easily, such as your telephone number, date of birth, car license plate number, etc.
- The PIN code must not be written on the Maestro card, nor stored together with it. Take care that no one observes you when you enter your Maestro PIN.
- If you forget your PIN code, you must order a new Maestro card with a new PIN code, since the PIN is unique and known only to you.
- To prevent possible misuse, your PIN code is automatically blocked after being entered incorrectly three times. The blocking occurs even if the incorrect entries are made at different ATMs or terminals. Blocked PIN codes cannot be subsequently unblocked; you must order a new Maestro card with a new PIN code.
- Tip: How can you remember the number series 9-2-6-7-3-2, without writing it down? One way is to invent a story from the number series: The evil queen has 9 castles and 2 mirrors. For 6 days she hunted for the 7 dwarves and the 3 Snow Whites. The queen has cut 2 apples into pieces and intends to use them to poison the dwarves and Snow White.
