- Sign your new Maestro card immediately upon receipt.
- Cut your expired Maestro card into several pieces upon receipt of your new card. Be sure that you also cut through the chip.
- Change the PIN code you are given at the time of issue at a Swiss ATM. When doing so, avoid number combinations that could be guessed easily.
- Never tell anyone your PIN code and do not write it down anywhere.
- Take care to ensure that the card’s magnetic strip does not become soiled or scratched.
- Make sure that you are not observed when entering your PIN code.
- Do not forget to remove your Maestro card after use.
- Have your card blocked immediately if it is stolen or retained by an ATM.
- Check the purchases and withdrawals made with your Maestro card, which appear on your account statement, on a regular basis. Contact your bank immediately if you spot any irregularities.
- Keep your Maestro card in a safe place and check regularly that the card is still in your possession.
