To become a Maestro acceptance partner, please contact our partner SIX Multipay and you will be offered different service packages. Then you will only need an electronic input and processing device, the so-called terminal and henceforth your customers will be able to buy in your shop in an easy, comfortable and cashless way.

By using the Secure E-Commerce Contract you will also enable your customers to pay online with their Maestro Card.

A terminal is needed because the cardholder must identify himself with a secret PIN for each transaction. The terminal then sends the PIN entered by the cardholder and the payment amount entered by the sales staff – also called the transaction amount – automatically and online to SIX Multipay, with which the respective merchant has concluded a contract regarding a service package. After the authorization by SIX Multipay the cardholder again confirms the transaction amount at the terminal.

When closing the cash register, the merchant must initialize a so-called day-end closing directly at the terminal. Depending on the terminal, this closing can be made several times a day or even be initialized automatically.

SIX Multipay services
With the day-end closing, all the day's Maestro payments are sent again to SIX Multipay for verification. Multipay, in assignment from the merchant, then collects the respective transaction amounts from the many various banks and transfers them to the respective merchant within 24 hours for domesticl cards and a maximum of 10 days for foreign cards.

Paying with Maestro cards on the Internet
Some foreign cards are permitted for payment on the Internet. The decision to permit such usage is made by the bank that issued the card. As the operator of an online shop, you can, if you have entered into a corresponding contractual agreement with SIX Multipay Ltd., also accept payments with Maestro cards through the virtual terminal of your Payment Service Provider.
