Terminals You need a terminal for the acceptance and processing of Maestro. Depending on your field of business, either a fixed-line or mobile EFT/POS is recommended or a vending machine module or a specially designed Tankautomat TM97 (unit for automated refueling), or even an integrated cash register solution. For payments on the Internet, you can use a payment software from a Payment Service Provider.
Normal EFT/POS terminal There are non-detachable devices attached to a fixed network, or portable devices that communicate with the SIX Multipay system over the GSM network. The terminals are specially built so that both data and the secret Maestro PIN can be transmitted to SIX Multipay. Newer devices are equipped with the EMV chip technology. These new devices read the data needed for processing from the chip and not from the card's magnetic strip. Data from older cards can of course still be read from the magnetic strip. With EMV-capable devices, not all transactions must be authorized online by SIX Multipay. This functionality helps reduce communication costs for the merchant. In addition, you also profit from greater customer satisfaction since EMV cards are more robust and can better withstand scratches, magnets and other soiling. The cards are also more easily read by the terminals.
Vending machine modules Special processing and entering devices are needed for the vending machine business. These devices must be particularly robust to ward off vandalism or other external influences. If you would like to learn more about vending machine modules then take a look at SIX Card Solutions current product range or that of another provider.
Integrated cash register solutions Larger companies might want to consider an integrated cash register solution. With integrated cash register solutions, part of the terminal is linked with the cash register system and the cash register software. Authorization inquiries are thereby – to put it simply – no longer initialized by the sales staff directly on the terminal, but by the cash register. Integrated cash register solutions also offer further advantages: In this way, Maestro payments can be directly connected to your accounting system. Interested? Then let SIX Card Solutions advise you about integrated terminal solutions or the POS management system, topas, or receive consultation from other suppliers about similar systems.
Automated refueling The automated refueling station, TM97, is a terminal specially designed to meet the needs of petrol companies. The automated refueling terminal stores all amount data and transmits it once a day to the SIX Multipay system.
ATMs SIX Multipay operates the ATM network in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The 5555 series ATMs enable simple, rapid withdrawing of cash with Maestro cards and credit cards. Cardholders can also load CASH, the electronic value card on the Maestro card chip, at ATMs. Would your financial institution like to install an ATM? Then look into the offer from SIX Multipay.
Payments with Maestro on the Internet with the virtual terminal of a payment software You need a contract with a Payment Service Provider that is able to integrate Maestro payments in the virtual terminal of your online shop. This includes ensuring that the processing of MasterCard SecureCode is possible.
